Defence

Sergio Reguilon endured a miserable outing in his first cup final on English soil, the Spaniard struggling to impact the match on either side of the ball. Mason will probably call on him again for Sunday’s encounter, but I wouldn’t be to dismayed if Ben Davies is given the nod. The Welshman should be easily able to handle himself against Sheffield United. However, expect Reguilon, as the safe bet, to get the call. Reguilon should have the upper hand on Sheffield United and be able to utilize his offensive prowess to make inroads down the left flank. He needs to avoid getting into the argy bargy with a rough and tumble Sheffield side.

It’s a similar story on the right side of defence, with Serge Aurier and Matt Doherty battling for selection. Aurier was poor at Wembley and contributed to City’s winning goal. It would be nice to see Doherty get the start. Though Mason certainly won’t go with both Davies and Doherty, so it’s either one of the two backups or neither. Odds say neither, as Tottenham have enjoyed a week’s rest and, although unlikely, are still vying for a top four spot. But I’m going against the grain with Doherty on the right.

Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld both played well against City and should retain their spots. Davinson Sanchez is on the outside looking in and currently sits below Joe Rodon in the pecking order.
