Midfield

Son Heung-min and Pierre Hojberg are the only two guaranteed starters in Spurs midfield. Ndombele should come back into the team, with Winks making way for the Frenchman.

Gareth Bale, although he  had an entirely ineffective cameo against City, will come into the first team. Lucas Moura was withdrawn prematurely in the Carabao Cup Final and is also a worthy suitor for a starting role, though Erik Lamela is also waiting in the wings.

The Argentine’s skill on the ball and incisiveness would be beneficial on Sunday. However, Sheffield United play a dogged, physical style which doesn’t suit Lamela’s skillset. Bale will be given another shot to see if he can influence more significantly a match against the league’s worst side.

In terms of formation, it would be brilliant to see Mason go with only one holding midfielder, allowing Tanguy to venture more freely. Son needs to find a way to regain his shattered confidence in front of goal, and having Tanguy support him in more advanced positions would surely yield better results for the South Korean. Though I don’t that wish coming to fruition.

Stephen Bergwijn and Dele Alli are the forgotten midfielders on Spurs’ roster. Even Dele has had more of a sniff than the Dutchman in recent months. Both will be left out in the cold for this one.

And there’s no way Moussa Sissoko, after handing City the Carabao Cup, will be part of the starting team. I’d be extremely surprised if he plays any part whatsoever.
