Tottenham Hotspur do not wish to sell Guglielmo Vicario. However, if they had to, they would require a mind-blowing transfer fee in return.

Tottenham Hotspur return to action this weekend. It felt like a longer international break than usual, but this wasn't helped by Spurs' antics before the break. Heading into any break with a loss is bound to drop heads.

However, there is one diamond in the rough for Ange Postecoglou and his side. After all, Guglielmo Vicario's inspired form resulted in his first competitive start for Italy against Israel.

Guglielmo Vicario has made the news a lot recently, through no fault of his own. Teams within his home country are becoming increasingly interested in signing him, due to his form.

Tottenham require mind-blowing Guglielmo Vicario transfer fee

According to a report from Calcio Mercato, Tottenham Hotspur won't let go of Guglielmo Vicario without a mind-blowing offer. The Italian outlet does not confirm Tottenham's valuation but it does state what we all know, it's much more than the £17m bargain Spurs originally obtained him for.

It might shock many people to hear that Spurs only paid just over £17m to sign Guglielmo Vicario. This is because his performances since joining in 2023 have vastly outweighed his price tag. In fact, Tottenham would probably pay double in hindsight.

Replacing the club legend Hugo Lloris was always going to take some doing. However, it wasn't long before Tottenham fans recognised Vicario as one of their most important players.

Last month, it was reported that Inter Milan wanted to sign Guglielmo Vicario as part of a transfer swap. This involved Benjamin Pavard heading the other way.

At the time, Tottenham's stance was unknown. However, if Calcio Mercato is anything to go by, then Spurs likely wouldn't entertain this swap deal. After all, their Italian goalkeeper is far too invaluable to them.

This season Vicario has started in every match for Tottenham Hotspur. It hasn't been a start to the season for Tottenham fans to write home about, but Vicario hasn't been to blame.
