Sevilla want to sign Tottenham's most expensive teenager in January
By Kian Long
Since arriving at Tottenham Hotspur, Archie Gray has not played many minutes. So, Sevilla want to hand him an opportunity on loan in January.
It was recently revealed that Archie Gray was the fifth most valuable 18-year-old in the world. As it stands, he is currently the most valuable teenager at Tottenham Hotspur.
The English midfielder was signed by Tottenham for a fee of £34.4m. This was an incredible investment but one which Tottenham hope will pay dividends.
In his limited playing time this season, Archie Gray has proved himself to be a worthwhile asset and an option to be considered for Ange Postecoglou. He plays with a wealth of maturity, despite being 18, and he is comfortable in possession. He is also versatile.
So, could Archie Gray leave Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window?

According to Mucho Deporte, Sevilla are currently keeping an eye on Archie Gray. They would like to offer him a loan opportunity in January, a pursuit which they think could benefit Tottenham Hotspur.
The report does state that Sevilla recognise how difficult the deal will be to pull off. After all, Tottenham invested a lot into Archie Gray, so whether they consider him worthy of loan remains to be seen.
It is still early days. No concrete moves have been made and at this point, it remains simply interest from Sevilla. They will continue to monitor his situation as the months progress.
In my opinion, it is unlikely Tottenham would sanction a loan move for Archie Gray. Loan moves are invaluable but they paint the picture of a player not being ready for the starting lineup. This is not the status of Archie Gray.
Ange Postecoglou clearly values Archie Gray highly. Otherwise, he would not have been signed for a large fee in the summer transfer window.
There is a fine line between sending a player out on loan for the right reasons versus giving him first-team experience.
Particularly as Spurs look to progress in the UEFA Europa League, there will be more opportunities for Archie Gray to prove himself.
He has not had a disaster at Tottenham, he is simply less valued than some of the first-team players. This should have been expected, though.
It is likely that Ange Postecoglou communicated a development plan to Archie Gray before he signed. He would not have put the teenager under any false impression about his minutes at the start.
At this point, Archie Gray does not seem unsettled. So, nothing to worry about here.
