There is good news on the Rodrigo Bentancur front. His personal trainer, Daniel Fernandez, has given everybody a positive update when speaking to Uruguayan publication Medios Publicos.

"It was a great scare, but he is recovering well. After an hour in the dressing room, he reacted well. Today he will continue with some tests that they are going to do and we're hoping that everything continues as it has so far.

He was in a good mood and in good condition. It is difficult sometimes to think what may happen but good, thanks to God it seems to me that everything is going to be fine, and Rodrigo is going to be in optimal conditions."

This comes as a relief to many, who were worried about Bentancur despite the fact Sky reported he was conscious and communicating. There was a lengthy stoppage during the game, and you always naturally fear the worst that could happen.

Positive Tottenham injury update on Rodrigo Bentancur

Even in a best-case scenario, Bentancur will be unavailable for the weekend game at home to Everton, with protocols saying that you should not return to play within seven days of the incident occurring. With Spurs playing on Monday night, this would rule out any part to play for the midfielder this weekend.

He could be out for longer, too - but the most important thing, of course, is that he is fine and well. Well being comes first, always, and it good to see that Bentancur is fine and on the mend.

Spurs were allowed a lesser seen concussion substitution as a result of the injury, with Leicester City also being allowed to make an extra sub to compensate, though only made three changes compared to Ange's six.

It is so good to hear that everything is fine with Spurs' number 30 - and I'm sure everyone wishes him the fastest recovery possible.
