New Tottenham Hotspur striker has found himself on the end of one of the best co-signs he could have possibly got after today's game against Bayern Munich.

Speaking to Sky Sports Football after the game, former Spurs and current Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane was asked "Spurs can never replace you, but they've obviously signed Dominic Solanke today - [can you] give us your thoughts on that?"

Kane said: Yeah it should be great, you know, Dom's a great player, plays with high intensity, high speed. For sure he's going to get chances in this team, with the way Ange plays, and you saw that again today, two top teams going at it toe-to-toe. Yeah, I think it's a really good signing. I saw him in the dressing room there and wished him all the best, and of course, I hope he has a great season."

If Dominic Solanke is even 60% as good for Spurs as Harry Kane was, then he and Spurs will have done very well indeed.

Funnily enough, this might not be the first time that a side has attempted to replace Kane with Solanke. During a November 2017 England camp, Kane picked up a minor injury and withdrew from the squad. Solanke, who was with the England U21 squad at the time, was drafted to replace the former Spurs man and made his England debut against Brazil later that break.

To date, it remains Solanke's one and only appearance for his country. The new Spurs striker is also eligible to represent Nigeria through his Father. However, he will be hoping that with good form for Spurs this coming season, a call-up in the new post-Southgate era will happen at some point.

The aforementioned Kane will continue to be the first-choice striker for England, but the second and third choices to deputize him have fluctuated a lot over the past few years, and there is no reason why Solanke shouldn't be considered if he takes his 23/24 form with him to N17.
