5. James Maddison (€46.3m)
The second player in this top five list to be signed by Ange Postecoglou in the 2023/24 season, it's James Maddison. Maddison was signed from Leicester City in 2023 at the bargain transfer fee of €46.3m - A reduced price considering Leicester City's relegation to the Championship in the previous season.
The Englishman took no time to adjust to his new North London surroundings as he began to provide his Tottenham teammates with great assists and even getting on the score sheet himself in no time. He was tipped by many as being the signing of the summer given his quickfire start.

However, Maddison became injured in the first half of the Premier League season, halting his development in a Tottenham jersey. Regardless, he has been an excellent addition and he improved the Tottenham midfield with his keen eye for a pass and the talent to execute the passes.
