Midfield

Sergio Reguilon 5.5/10

A patchy performance from the Spaniard, who consistently followed solid stints of play by a lacklustre sequence. Didn’t back himself to go in on goal after receiving an intelligent Pierre Hojbjerg through ball, instead cutting back and opting for a pass when he had a direct route on goal. His first touch let him down. Had one decent effort on goal in the first half.

Emerson Royal 5/10

In similar fashion to Reguilon, Royal saw a lot of the ball, but didn’t make the most of it. He had countless crosses, many of which failed to find the precision needed to break down a stout Watford rearguard. Not good enough from the Brazilian right wingback.

Oliver Skipp 7/10

Always reliable and forever causing havoc, Oliver Skipp’s smart intervention in the first half should have led to Tottenham’s opener. Harry Kane, who missed the target from a golden position, was unable to make his midfielder’s anticipatory work count.

Pierre Hojbjerg 6.5/10

Pierre had an outstanding chance to get Spurs off on the right track, but the Dane skied his right footed half volley. He was solid otherwise in the middle of the park and found some smart forward passes. He tried to get forward and cause trouble in the opposing box, but was unable to find the decisive moment.
