Tottenham will continue to run with a three-man midfield but we see some changes enforced by both injury and necessity following last weekend’s performance.

Tanguy Ndombele (LMF) – After a strong showing midweek, Tanguy Ndombele should be rewarded with more minutes on Sunday against Chelsea. Spurs need a player who can maintain possession against strong pressure and Ndombele is that man. On Sunday, Ndombele will play in the role we have seen Dele Alli in for most of the season. But Dele will be elsewhere on Sunday and Ndombele gets his chance.

Oliver Skipp (DM) – Until Pape Matar Sarr comes to N17, it looks like Nuno Santo is going to ride or die with Oliver Skipp as his main defensive midfielder. Skipp does well reading the game and knows his limitations. Spurs are going to need Skipp to be a bit more adventurous with his passing in this match to create the forward momentum they need even if it means missing some passes.

Pierre Hojbjerg (RMF) – Pierre Hojbjerg will continue to line up on the right side of midfield three as he has most of the campaign. The Dane has shown better skill on the ball and is growing with his confidence this season. Not really an attacking midfielder and is likely to drop some with Skipp but plays a much more box-to-box role than the young Englishman.
