Bale like old Tottenham days for Wales

Ben Davies had a memorable day for Wales as he was playing with former Tottenham Hotspur Gareth Bale when Wales got new qualifying life. Unlike Denmark and England, Wales has struggled thus far in qualifying although several games in hand could change things.

Two games in hand or not the idea of being four points behind second in the group and a full 10 points behind group leaders Belgium was the task in front of Wales if they were to lose in Belarus. Instead two penalty kids and then a goal in injury time – all from Gareth Bale – would save the day for Davies and Wales.

With the win, Wales has six points but only three matches played. If the Welshmen can win their two matches in hand with Estonia and Belarus, they can be up to 13 points and just one-off Belgium. While those six points are far from assured, no doubt a loss on Sunday would have sunk Wales, instead, they live on.
