Tottenham Loan Decision – Harvey White

A couple of seasons ago it seemed Harvey White was the next thing in the Tottenham midfield in the mold of Winks and Oliver before him. Last season, White spent the first half of the year hanging around with the first team.

White played for Spurs in the FA Cup and even made a cameo in the Europa League last season. In January White was loaned out to Portsmouth in League One. White was in the Porstmouth squad 25 times and featured 21 of the 25 times but only started five of those matches.

White only accumulated 681 minutes in those 21 games, a 32 minute per outing average. At this point, White is even deeper down the Tottenham depth chart than he was a year ago, meaning another loan seems the most likely outcome. If White can get a full season as a starter under his belt at the League One level, this time next year we could be looking at a very different conversation. For now, however, White looks like he is going out on loan.
