Projecting Mason’s XI for Tottenham Hotspur home finale vs Villa
By Aaron Coe
Tottenham projected attackers
With the exception of the Carabao Cup final, Ryan Mason has been quite consistent in his front three. Lucas Moura started on the right against City in a more defensive set-up but otherwise, it has been Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son, and Gareth Bale up top for Tottenham. The one exception on Wednesday may be the concern of playing Bale again after just playing Sunday but with two matches to go, that hardly seems a concern.
Son – Left Wing
South Korean Heung-Min Son has had a terrific season overall for Tottenham. Yes, his four-goal game against Southampton sort of pads his total of 17 goals. However, if you take those four goals away, Son still has 13 goals and 10 assists in just the Premier League this season. And of course, his four goals do count so 17 goals and 10 assists is one heck of a season. With an outside shot at reaching 20 goals, expect to see Son leave it all on the pitch.
Kane – Striker
Harry Kane has likely had a difficult couple of days. If he really does want to leave he has likely had a lot of explaining to do and a lot of documents and proposals he has had to review. If he is not leaving, which HotspurHQ believes, then he has still had to put up with a lot of crap from this story. Regardless, Kane is on a quest to help carry this team into Europe and to win the Golden Boot. Like Son, expect to see Kane doing it all again Wednesday.
Bale – Right Wing
While we gave strong consideration to starting Gareth Bale from the bench. However, the idea of not starting Gareth Bale in front of the Tottenham faithful in their only chance this season does not seem right. If we can harken back to the start of the season and the people lined up on Northumberland Park and High Road to welcome the returning hero, the idea of him not starting is almost laughable. Bale is what the people want and Bale is what the people will get!
