1. Hugo Lloris can still steal a game

Tottenham should have put the game to bed in the first half, with Kane surprisingly missing a close range header which would have doubled the lead. But when you don’t take your chances, oftentimes — particularly at the top level — you pay for it. Which would have been the case had it not been for Hugo Lloris’ heroics.

It wasn’t the amount of saves Lloris made that left a lasting impression, but the quality and timing of the stops. While the Frenchman only had three saves to make, two were of a world class variety. The first came early in the second half on a Joachim Andersen header from a Fulham free kick. Lloris followed up by making a brilliant save low to his left side about 10 minutes later.

Next. Tottenham projected 11 for Crystal Palace. dark

Lloris has always been one of the world’s best shot stoppers and can never be faulted for his superb reflexes. The importance of those timely, world-class saves cannot be overstated, and were the reason Tottenham didn’t cough up a fifth straight one-goal lead.
