Midfield

Either Harry Winks or Moussa Sissoko should return to the heart of midfield alongside the viking, who, like his ancestors, requires no respite whatsoever. Winks moves the ball better than Sissoko, and should get a crack in the starting team.

Who knows whether Gareth Bale will be given the benefit of the doubt. He hasn’t impressed since being given a starting role, nor has he shown his credence coming on as a sub. Bale should be permitted another chance in the starting team, offering Son Heung-Min a much needed rest in the lead up to City. Though I wouldn’t be shocked to see Son start when the club releases its first team, once again leaving Bale watching from the sidelines.

Erik Lamela plays in the No. 10 role, supporting Vinicius. Hopefully Spurs won’t need to use Kane, who could use another couple of days off before playing against the country’s best defensive team on the weekend.

Lamela deserves another start. He could be instrumental in whether Spurs progress to the quarterfinal. Lucas Moura plays on the right, favoured over Steven Bergwijn. The Dutchman should start on Saturday, as he, during his short time at Tottenham, has performed admirably against City.

Next. Injuries will impact Everton vs Tottenham FA Cup match. dark

Dele Alli should return to Spurs squad while Serge Aurier is expected to miss out through an injury he suffered in Sunday’s win. Sergio Reguilón and Giovanni Lo Celso are both unavailable as they recover from more serious injuries.
