Tottenham: 3 reasons why Gareth Bale makes Spurs challengers
2. Tottenham’s front three is one of the best in the world
Gareth Bale. Harry Kane. Heung-min Son.
Few attacking trios can compete with Tottenham’s new front three. With Bale added to the mix, Spurs’ attacking trio is right up there alongside Liverpool’s combination of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino.
All three of Bale, Kane, and Son are incredible goal-scorers. In 171 games for Real Madrid in La Liga, Bale scored 80 goals. Kane has consistently been one of the world’s best finishers throughout his career at Tottenham, scoring 143 goals in 211 Premier League appearances. Son, playing primarily on the left, has 53 goals in 161 Premier League games.
It remains to be seen how Jose Mourinho will use Bale. He can play on the left or right side, or more central. With Son most comfortable on the left, an option would be to put Bale on the right with Kane the main target in the middle.
Bale will add goals to this Tottenham team, but we’ll also get to see him link up with Kane. When Kane gets good service, he’ll put the ball in the back of the net for fun. With Bale providing opportunities, Kane should get the help he needs to get more goal-scoring opportunities.
Again, where Mourinho uses Bale will be interesting. We also don’t know how Dele Alli and Lucas Moura will factor into his plans. But wherever the trio of Bale, Kane, and Son line up on the pitch, they are going to give Spurs an incredible attack.
