3. What’s next for Harry Winks?

One player with an uncertain future at Tottenham is central midfielder Harry Winks. Winks has made 57 Premier League appearances for Spurs over the past two seasons, but could he be on his way out following the signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg?

Well, Manchester City could be a potential destination for the 24-year-old midfielder, with The Sun reporting that City could offer £40 million.

Hotspur HQ’s Aaron Coe wrote about why Spurs should keep hold of Winks, but it’s going to be interesting to see the club’s decision should City make an offer. With Hojbjerg signed, is Winks still in Mourinho’s plans?

There are plenty of reasons to keep Winks, as Coe points out in the article. Not only is he a talented player who can help this team even after the addition of Hojbjerg, but he is also a homegrown talent, which is important due to the Premier League rules on the number of overseas players allowed in the squad.

That said, it could be hard to turn down an offer in the region of £40 million for Winks, who is a talented player but as of yet been unable to push on and become a great midfielder.

Determining Winks’ future is a big decision Mourinho will need to make this summer.
