2. Troy Parrott‘s inclusion

A more unlikely outcome sees Troy Parrott leading the lines up front. Jose Mourinho is not renowned for providing youth talent with first team opportunities, even when undermanned.

He didn’t give Parrott a sniff in the FA Cup when Kane tore his hamstring and has publicly stated he doesn’t believe the young Irishman is ready to be thrown into the limelight as a fully fledged member of the senior team.

He might, considering the circumstances, be forced to give Parrott a crack. He won’t be utilized in the Champions League but might get the call against Norwich in the FA Cup or a league match or two down the road.

This lineup is appealing as it gives Lo Celso an opportunity to play in his preferred position. Winks and Lo Celso have shown considerable harmony as a tandem in the centre of the park, and it would be a shame to have to split them up now.
