Spurs’ Success Recognized at London Football Awards
The London Football Awards
In short, it’s a celebration of London football. But it’s also a way to support Willow which is a charity. This season, there are 15 London clubs who will be recognized: Arsenal, Barnet, Brentford, Charlton, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Dagenham & Redbridge, Fulham, Leyton Orient, Millwall, QPR, Tottenham, Watford, West Ham and Wimbledon.
As for the event itself, current England manager Roy Hodgson offered his thoughts on why he likes attending. Also, this award ceremony will mark the 50th anniversary of England’s 1966 World Cup win.
“The London Football Awards is an event I am always very pleased and honoured to attend. It’s a great celebration of London Football and also a fantastic opportunity to be able to support a wonderful charity like Willow; and Bob and Megs who have worked so hard over the years.”
Now here’s a follow-up on what kind of a charity Willow actually is:
"Willow is a national charity that provides unique and positive Special Days for seriously ill 16 to 40-year-olds. Willow was founded by former Arsenal goalkeeper and sports presenter, Bob Wilson and his wife, Megs and in memory of their daughter, Anna, who died of cancer aged just 31. To date Willow has fulfilled more than 12,000 Special Days for young people living with life-threatening conditions such as cancer, cystic fibrosis, motor neurone disease, muscular dystrophy, organ failure and Huntington’s Disease. For more information about Willow visit www.willowfoundation.org.uk"
In order to attend the event, there are ticket prices for those who wish to go.
Standard tickets costs £200 per person. For a table of 10 people, tickets are available for £2,000. Premium tables also seats 10 people and costs £3,000. While Legend tables (ten guests plus a legend) costs £5,000 a pop.
Each ticket includes pre-dinner drinks and a three course meal.
In essence though, it’s very expensive but well worth it for those who wish to donate to a charity such as Willow and see your favorite players and coaches in person. As well as legendary players.
