The first youth striker from England’s lower divisions makes his way onto this list. Ademola Lookman would be like every other player if they were to be signed in January. Or even the summer, if Tottenham can’t sign any of these players during the winter transfer window.
And that is, becoming a backup at their current positions with an eye towards the future. At just 18-years-old, Lookman will only be looked at as Harry Kane’s understudy (pun intended).
The young forward certainly has plenty of potential as Chartlon Athletic manager, Karel Fraeye, has started Ademola Lookman for the team’s past five games. And the youngster has responded by scoring three goals in his last five starts.
Overall, in seven appearances, three goals is a good return for someone so young. If Lookman can keep building on that performance and Pochettino sees him as a player to help mold, then Spurs will have themselves a backup striker — albeit four years younger than Harry Kane.
