“Toby’s with us. Toby, goalscorer today. I thought if we’re gonna interview you post-match it would have been after a magnificent defensive display. But you’re on the scoresheet as well, tell us about it?”
“Yeah of course I’m very happy with the win and then if you could help the team with a goal it’s fantastic. Even as well to score at home — you know my first goal for Spurs — is wonderful and I’m very happy. And yeah the first half was difficult I think, but we had some chances in the second half, especially after the goal — after the 2-1 — we had a lot of belief in it. We put a lot of effort in it, everybody worked hard so I think at the end we deserved to win.”
“Looking at the whole game Toby, how important was Eric’s goal just before halftime?”
“Yeah, very. You know we got a couple of little chances before and yeah you have to get to 1-1 to go in halftime and of course give us a boost when we made the goal. And the belief, yeah was back.”
“He’s done just about everything this season hasn’t he? I mean he’s come from playing right-back, center-back to center-midfield and now he’s scoring goals. There’s no stopping him is there?”
“No, he’s a wonderful young player you know. This season he’s massive and yeah I hope he will continue like this because he’s a very important player for us.”

“Okay back to the game, at one-all, it’s still in the balance. But of course you get your header, 2-1, and then we really clicked into it then didn’t we?”
“Yeah yeah everybody was working — like I said — was working so hard for every ball, every 50-50 we won and we scored goals. I think we deserved this kind of win because the last game it was a little bit tricky. You know we played good, we played defensively, we’re very nice again today so that’s important to build on.”
“How important is this win for the lads in that dressing room and yourself? It’s a statement win isn’t it?”
“Yeah but we have to keep calm you know, just to win. But we can enjoy tonight and then we have to work as we are doing until today. You know work very hard and improve our game every game and then we can have a fantastic season. But we don’t have to dream too much, staying with our two feet on the ground and work very hard and then we have a very young talented, very good group.”
“But we do have to say, that is what we are capable of, isn’t it?”
“Yeah of course, yeah if we work hard we do everything that we have to do, then we have the quality in front to make the difference. In the back as well — midfield, like you said, Eric — everybody was working so hard and then we are very strong and we have to work as a team with the crowd behind us, will make us very tough to beat.”
