Away Fans – Come And Enjoy A Day Out At Tottenham!
By Alan Hill
Why does it always happen with Tottenham? A team and manager under pressure arrive at White Hart Lane and Spurs inevitably take pity on them.
The Perfect Remedy for a Troubled Team
Is your team playing crap? Can’t buy a win? Manager one game away from the sack? We have the answer.
Let us fix it for you.
- Why don’t you come down for a day out in London where a friendly welcome awaits you at White Hart Lane?

- Listen to our prima donnas talk a good game before kick-off, describing our “fantastic team spirit” and praising our head coach.
- Witness them jog out late for the kick-off and play with their laces as they sit on their haunches out of position.
- See them panic and chase forlornly after your forwards as they steam past us straight from the kick off and score.
- See our heads drop when we concede and wonder at how all of a sudden our players don’t seem to want the ball anymore. See your team get their first away win and your season turn the corner before our very eyes.
- Watch our Spanish former international miss sitter after sitter and our new young England scoring sensation spend most of the game warming his backside on the bench.
- Listen to our distraught fans boo and hold their heads in their hands.
- Be grateful for the way our players besmirch the memory of one of the greatest football managers of all time and embarrass the legends who turn up to honour him with tears in their eyes.
Go home happy with a smile on your face and all 3 points.

Thank You
This is my last article for HotspurHQ. Logan has decided to step down as editor, so that is also the end for me as a contributor.
It has been a real blast since he contacted me a couple of years ago to invite me to do an article for his new site, having seen my own pieces on Tottenham and all the pictures and memorabilia I have at life2too.com.
Regular readers will know that at the time I was clawing my way back from just surviving life-saving neuro surgery on a burst pituitary tumour and strokes and that’s only the half of it. Writing for Logan was a real lifeline and gave me literally something to live for. What was intended to be a one-off article developed into regular blogs which proved more popular than I could ever have imagined.

Our views or “hits” rose to nearly 200,000 a month and we appeared on the official Tottenham site through Newsnow and then GoogleNews. I am proud to say that some of my articles were the most viewed over a 24 hour period on Newsnow, sometimes outstripping those of national newspapers. Who’d have thought it?
It has been very gratifying to get so many “likes” on Facebook. I appreciated the contributions from our regulars and enjoyed most of the comments, even the wisecracks from opposition supporters. There was the odd vile contribution from a sad nutter but the less said about them the better…
Anyhow, “miraculous” partial recoveries notwithstanding, due to my remaining disabilities, I have relied heavily on Logan to do the technical work in finalising my blogs for the web, hence the need for me to sign off as he relinquishes the editorship. Also, although I still have plenty to say about current games and events with Tottenham and England I have pretty much exhausted my trove of stories about games from the 70s up to date.
So thanks again Logan Holmes, Big Welsh Steve and to everybody who logged in. I hope you enjoyed what you found and that I was able to make you sometimes think about the game a little more deeply and even more importantly raise the occasional laugh, or at least a snort.
Meanwhile, I plan to continue with the occasional blog and match report on my own little website at life2too.com. You are all welcome to check it out. Loads of Tottenham memorabilia and also stuff for fans of guitar, blues and rock music. Might see you at the Lane sometime.
Thangyew and good night.
