2) Archie Gray for Destiny Udogie

Just a quick disclaimer – these two changes could be vice versa. We have seen Gray fill in both full-back positions this season, as well as Spence featuring at left-back, despite being a natural right-back. With Gray at left-back and Spence right-back, it would be one square peg rather than two - but vice versa would not be a disaster either.

Again, much like Porro – Udogie looks pretty spent. Of course fatigue can’t excuse every single poor action, and sure some fans may feel like this is an excuse, but it is also true. Due to injuries, and red cards, the Italian full-back has already played more than he would have hoped to this season.

It is worth mentioning that the 22-year old’s international break was reduced to two cameos, and he was rested for the game against Roma – so perhaps fatigue does not stretch as far for him as Porro, but whatever other reasons there may be for his performances, it is clear he needs a game or two out of the game to reset.

There were times on Thursdays night that you could tell Gray was a midfielder playing at left-back, but there were other times where he looked a lot better, and he was deprived of an assist after his lovely left footed cross was headed onto the woodwork late on.

We know that Bournemouth are an energetic side who play with a lot of intensity. The freshness of the full-backs could give Spurs a big boost in their chances of getting a win. This feels like a good chance to put some fresh impetus into the side. Ange teams at their best play with a lot of intensity, and it does not feel possible with two absolutely shattered full-backs.
