It looks like Ange Postecoglou could be welcoming a new mate at Tottenham Hostpur Stadium if recent reports are to believe. The Lilywhites are reportedly in the race for an Australian wonderkid who has drawn attraction from several Premier League sides.

According to Pete O'Rourke of Football Insider, Spurs are leading the way to sign Thomas Waddingham this summer. The 19-year-old has displayed a notable level in recent games, scoring five goals in the last nine matches.

O'Rourke reports that Postecoglou has been notified about this player by his contacts in the A-League. The Brisbane Roar forward is making some noise this season and several clubs are reportedly ready to make a move for him.

That said, Spurs may face stiff competition not only in England but overseas, as other clubs like Bayern Munich have put their attention on Waddingham. The kid is having a breakout season with Brisbane and as the days go by, more teams are likely to join this race.

Tottenham already have young talent on the roster, including loanee Alejo Veliz, on the front. Troy Parrott is another exciting player for Spurs' future. Adding Waddingham would be a solid investment for the North Londoners, who are still looking for a new No. 9 after Harry Kane left for Bayern at the start of this season.

The summer transfer window is getting closer and Tottenham are being linked with different players around the world. Waddingham is an intriguing option for Postecoglou's side, but we're yet to see if they're able to land one of the most in-demand youngsters in the world of football right now.
