Tottenham are still on the hunt for a world-class striker, after the best player the club has ever seen left in the summer. Harry Kane is one of the best goal-scorers to ever grace the Premier League and he spent 14 years representing Tottenham before taking on the Bayern Munich challenge.

It's been almost a year since he left the club and Spurs are still yet to find an adequate replacement. Ange Postecoglou is at the helm and he's been met with the impossible task of replacing Kane - A chore he may not deem too necessary, considering he never coached Kane in the first place.

If anything, Spurs have become better without Kane. Fans know this won't last, though, and to push on next season, they need to sign a proven goal-scorer. Well, Spurs fans, you may be in luck.

According to Caught Offside, Tottenham are confident they can land the signing of Santiago Gimenez, as talks are intensifying between the club and Feyenoord player. The report does also state that alternatives are lined up, in the shape of Dusan Vlahovic, Jonathan David, Evan Ferguson and Ivan Toney.

In 25 Eredivisie appearances this season, Gimenez has netted 21 goals and provided four assists. That is an incredible return as he is looking at an average of a goal return per game. While the 22-year-old may be going through a dry patch at the moment, scoring three goals in his last ten games, he proved earlier in the season that he has a natural inclination to goal-scoring.

Gimenez is the type of player who Tottenham fans have been waiting for. Granted, his playing style is different to Harry Kane's, but all goals count the same, regardless how they go in. His finishing is second-to-none and if there's one thing he can promise, it's goals.
