When Tottenham Hotspur signed Destiny Udogie for £15 million, no one really knew much about the 20-year-old fullback.

Just a year later, Udogie is now finding himself on the shortlist from several pundits around the league as one of the best players in the league this season.

Overnight, he has become that good.

And now, he should look to establish himself as not just a permanent starter but has a real chance to be one of the best players at his position in the world.

The first thing that stands out from Udogie is his athleticism. At 6'2, his long frame matches his physical strength in the Premier League means he can compete with the best of the best in the world.

He was also clocked in earlier this season as one of the fastest players in the Premier League.

This season, Udogie has paired 2 goals and 3 assists with 28 matches played.

If Udogie keeps refining his offensive abilities while in sync with Ange Postecoglou's high-press tactics, his potential knows almost no bounds. Tottenham supporters would fervently wish for him to remain, as his caliber could attract the likes of Real Madrid or Manchester City.

"As a wing-back, I’m just on the side, but playing partly in midfield you have to be aware of what’s going on behind you. You have to be ready before you receive the ball. You have to know what is behind you and in front of you and what you’re going to do. So it’s a bit like being a midfielder. In the beginning, I was operating close to the wing. But step by step, I move more inside, and feel more secure. It’s going well. I’m enjoying it."

It should be a fun thing to observe the next few years.
