Charlotte FC have recently inquired about the availability of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, according to a report by the Daily Mail.

As the MLS transfer window approaches its closing date, the American club are looking to strengthen their squad, particularly in the attacking midfield position.

Currently sitting sixth in the Eastern Conference standings, Charlotte FC are keen to make a significant addition to their roster.

The team have reportedly set their sights on Lo Celso, along with Newcastle United winger Miguel Almirón. However, there are concerns that the cost of Lo Celso might be too high for the club to manage.

The Argentine midfielder, who is 28 years old, has just one year remaining on his contract with Tottenham. This situation makes him an appealing target for Charlotte FC, as his contract status could potentially make a move more feasible.

The club from North Carolina have apparently reached out to Spurs to explore the possibility of bringing Lo Celso on board.

Charlotte FC need to act fast to get a deal done since the second MLS transfer window is closing this week. If the club are serious about acquiring Lo Celso, they will need to act quickly to finalize any agreement before the deadline.

This interest from Charlotte FC comes amid ongoing speculation about Lo Celso's future. Recent reports indicate that both Aston Villa and Real Betis are also vying for his signature.

TyC Sports revealed that these two clubs have made offers for the midfielder, who is now faced with choosing between a move to La Liga or a Premier League side.

Given the stage of his career, it might be surprising if Lo Celso opts for a move to the MLS. A transition to American soccer could potentially limit his chances of making it into Argentina’s national team, as playing in the MLS might not offer the same level of visibility and competition as European leagues.

The midfielder are likely to want to prove himself in Europe, where he might be more inclined to return to the familiar surroundings of La Liga.
