Tottenham Hotspur have had a good summer transfer window overall. With a week and change remaining, Ange Postecoglou could certainly make more additions. However, these further additions would simply be luxurious. Tottenham fans must not be blinded by dropping points against Leicester, they do have a good squad for the season ahead.

One player who surprisingly didn't make the move to Tottenham is Conor Gallagher. The Chelsea midfielder was seriously linked with a move to Tottenham before and during the Euros in the summer, however, those rumours slowly began to die out as time progressed. Indeed, with Archie Gray providing defensive cover and Lucas Bergvall providing creativity, there was no need for Gallagher.

Well, Conor Gallagher could soon sign for his new club...

“Here we go” Fabrizio Romano confirms Tottenham transfer target’s new club

According to Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter), Conor Gallagher will travel to Madrid either today or tomorrow. The England international will soon sign for Atletico Madrid, putting to bed any remaining links with him and Tottenham. Terms between Atletico and Chelsea have been agreed, as they have been between Atletico and Gallagher too. He will NOT sign for Tottenham.

Nobody is denying that Conor Gallagher would have been a terrific signing for Tottenham. He was one of Chelsea's best players last season under Mauricio Pochettino, showing that he would slot seamlessly into the Tottenham setup. However, some things are not meant to be.

At least this will finally put a lid on the Gallagher transfer links. It has been a very confusing transfer window for Tottenham, with different sources claiming different things. The truth is that only Ange Postecoglou knows his next transfer move, if there even is one. Regardless, it can be said with certainty that the next move for Tottenham will not involve Conor Gallagher.

Do you think Conor Gallagher will make it in La Liga?
