Ange Postecoglou compares Tottenham youngster with FC Barcelona's Lamine Yamal
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has made an honest and coherent comparison between 17-year-old Spurs forward Mikey Moore and FC Barcelona star Lamine Yamal.
Tottenham just lost 3-2 to Brighton & Hove Albion this Sunday, and amidst the challenges, Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou sent 17-year-old Mikey Moore onto the pitch.
The young forward already made his full debut for Tottenham in a UEFA Europa League match against Ferencvaros, which they won 2-1. Moore expressed confidence and stated he’s ready to become a regular in the squad after this event.
Following the Europa League clash, Ange Postecoglou spoke about how rare it is to see such young players at the top level of football, making an honest comparison between Mikey Moore and FC Barcelona star Lamine Yamal.

Postecoglou wanted to highlight Moore for his impressive performances at such a young age, and to make his point, he mentioned Yamal, though noting that what the Barcelona star is doing is something "rare." Ange stated:
"How many 17-year-olds are playing in top leagues? Yeah, Lamine (Yamal) is brilliant but it's not common thing. It's rare."
"If you look at the Premier League, how many? Mikey Moore is contributing, which shows that he's got something special."
Without a doubt, when talking about Mikey Moore, we're talking about a special footballer. Clearly, given his age, there can be many twists in his career, but if he stays focused and channels his potential and mentality well, we’re looking at a generational talent.
The comparison with Yamal is not incoherent at all. In fact, it could be seen as a compliment to the Spanish footballer. Ange used him as an extraordinary example simply to lower the expectations surrounding Moore.
In this last match against Brighton, Moore only played 10 minutes, during which he won the only duel he was involved in, succeeded in the one dribble he attempted, and completed both of his passes.
