Tottenham Hotspur need to do better next season. They finished fifth in the Premier League table which is an improvement on the previous season but in truth, Ange Postecoglou's men let it slip as they were at one point leading the table and then had an opportunity to qualify for the Champions League. 1. James Maddison
The one player who would most like to improve next season is James Maddison. The English midfielder had his debut season for Tottenham get off to an incredible start. In fact, for the first couple of months in the 2023/24 season, Maddison looked like the signing of the summer as his influential performances skyrocketed Tottenham's season.
However, after the honeymoon period had cooled off, Maddison slowly disappeared. While he wasn't the luckiest with injuries last seasons, he never truly continued the momentum he started at the beginning of the season.
This is why it was a justified decision for Gareth Southgate to not include him in the EURO 2024 squad. As his own harshest critic, Maddison should waste no time in complaining about his exclusion but instead, work hard to rectify this next season.
Spurs fans hope that Maddison has an impressive second season, which the midfielder who oozes quality is certainly capable of.
