There were eyebrows raised when Spurs decided to spend 17.3m (SofaScore) on Vicario from Empoli. Most fans had never heard of him, which of course automatically means he's rubbish in the eyes of some fans.

However, he more than proved to be a fruitful signing, often producing superb saves from one-on-ones after the Spurs' defence was breached. His immense sweeping ability is perfect for the high-line Spurs want to play under Ange.

He was an ever present, the first in goal for Spurs since the 21/22 season (Transfermarkt). He can still improve, especially from corners - but all in all has been a good signing for Spurs and undoubtedly won Spurs a few points on his own.
