4) Jacob Ramsey

Over the summer, Ramsey was often linked to Spurs, including in reports about a cash plus player deal involving Giovani Lo Celso, who would have linked up with former manager Unai Emery. In the end, Lo Celso went to Real Betis – and a deal for Ramsey never materialised either way.

The midfielder has been in and out of the team at Aston Villa this season, although has probably played enough minutes to not necessarily want to leave because of it. Like Gomes, he would very much suit that left sided central midfield role in Ange’s new 433 set up – for very similar reasons, such as his agility and ability to play between the lines.

The Villa midfielder is capable of playing as a number eight, number ten, or on the left hand side of an attack. Ramsey has a contract until 2027, though if he doesn’t extend, will begin to enter the final two years as quickly as the beginning of next season. Also like Gomes, Ramsey (23), is an at age where he has plenty of experience, but also undoubtedly his best years ahead of him.
