Former Leicester assistant set to join Tottenham coaching crew

The Telegraph’s Matt Law reported earlier today that former Leicester assistant manager Chris Davies is set to join Tottenham as one of Ange Postecoglou’s assistants.
Davies was the frontrunner to land the Swansea head coaching job but has decided a role on Postecoglou’s staff was a better fit.
This piece of news comes on the back of Ryan Mason pledging his allegiance to Postecoglou, with the long-term Spurs’ coach keen on staying in north London.
Davies was Leicester’s assistant manager under Brendan Rodgers from 2019 to 2023. The duo went their separate ways when Leicester sacked Rodgers and his coaching staff.
Davies was also Rodgers’ assistant at previous clubs, including Celtic, Liverpool, and Swansea.
Rodgers was linked to Tottenham at various points in the past, previously considered one of the top contenders for the head coach role.
Davies has spent years coaching alongside Rodgers, so Tottenham has achieved the best of both worlds with his hiring. He can impart Rodgers’ philosophy while falling into line and learning under Postecoglou.
