5. Graham Potter

Potter’s name has been dragged through the West London mud thanks to his hopeless six-month stint as Chelsea’s boss.

While Potter must take some accountability for Chelsea’s gross inadequacy during his reign, the club and particularly new owner Todd Boehly set the former Brighton boss up for failure, creating an environment of confusion and division.

Boehly spent over £300 million on transfers attempting to bolster his club. His outrageous spending spree had the reverse effect, making it increasingly difficult for Potter to create chemistry and a cohesive environment.

Potter didn’t do himself any favours by trying to cater to each of Chelsea’s new signings. Chopping and changing his lineup so frequently, Potter was never able to figure out his preferred 11.

However, his accomplishments at Brighton shouldn’t be forgotten or overlooked. Despite his failure at Chelsea, the 48-year-old is a brilliant manager whose high-energy brand of attacking football could transform the way Tottenham plays.

His arrival at Spurs is highly unlikely, though. Less than two months after being axed by Boehly, Potter is still licking his Chelsea wounds. And Levy probably won’t be able to look past his abject, albeit brief, spell at Chelsea.
