It remains to be seen whether or not Conte will stay until the end of the season or be sacked by Daniel Levy before his contract expires.

For the sake of both parties, Conte should leave at the end of the season or sooner, as he reportedly somewhat expects the exit door following the midweek loss.

Conte has had a rough six or so months, with several close friends passing away, undergoing surgery. He also underwent surgery and missed time on the touchline. Maybe his priorities have since shifted.

Whether he leaves in the coming weeks or at season’s end, Tottenham has definitely began its search for Conte’s replacement.

Does Tottenham go for another ex-Chelsea and somewhat pragmatic profile in Thomas Tuchel? Or, do they try and recreate the attacking football that Spurs used to be known for and reunite with Mauricio Pochettino?

Tottenham has also been linked with other attacking-minded managers, Luis Enrique and Roberto De Zerbi.

Regardless of who is appointed Spurs next manager, fans will hope not to have a rerun of the 2021 summer fiasco in which the club interviewed several managers only to hire Nuno Santo, another indelible black mark on an ownership group renowned for its egregious mismanagement of club affairs.
