Midfield

Rodrigo Bentancur 5/10

Rodrigo Bentancur, like his midfield partner, played a decent match. Bentancur made a few advanced runs when the game was already out of reach.

Pierre Hojbjerg 5/10

The Dane was by all intents and purposes a non event . Like Bentancur, he did a lot of chasing in trying to contain Arsenal. Unfortunately, he didn’t do enough on either side of the ball.

Ivan Perisic 5/10

Ivan Perisic tired at times to get forward in the first half. He skied an effort after getting into space in the first 45 but was absent in the second half before being withdrawn. Xhaka cut in on Arsenal’s second and Perisic conceded too much space.

Royal Emerson 2/10

A shocking, senseless tackle from the Brazilian saw him receive an immediate red card. While there was no malice in the challenge, Emerson’s tackle was high, mistimed and completely unnecessary. He played an average game otherwise but cost his team an opportunity to comeback.
