Midfield

Yves Bissouma 4/10

Yves Bissouma endured a debut performance to forget. He started for the first time in the Premier League and was culpable of several careless giveaways. He also lost Thomas Soucek on West Ham’s opener. He’ll need some time to get up to speed, but it was a trying first start for the Ivorian.

Pierre Hojbjerg 6/10

The Dane definitely got stuck into the action. He was as industrious as ever, but was slightly errant with his attempted incisive passes.

Emerson Royal 7/10

Emerson Royal has enjoyed a terrific start to the campaign. He is getting stuck in defensively and looks good going forward, too. He’s put a lot of work into his final ball, which has thus far paid off.

Ivan Perisic 8/10

Ivan Perisic always makes the smart pass. His pinpoint accuracy and calmness on the pitch is a treat to watch. You can see why he’s so highly renowned. He made the most noticeable impact of any Tottenham player and will be an invaluable asset throughout the campaign. He also has an unerring ability to play an incisive pass that rips open the defence. He coughed up possession once, when Lloris was caught on the ball.
