What to expect from Tottenham pre-season match against Team K-League
By Aaron Coe
Given we should have a good crowd and a lot of changing of players and positions during the game, the final two expectations are logical outcomes of the situation.
Expect some mistakes in play from Tottenham
Spurs last played almost two months ago, and while many players have been playing for their country and staying sharp, we should expect some rust. Not all players are in top shape and ready for the rigours of game speed, which is likely to be displayed in some of the play.
On Tuesday, Liverpool was rusty and was blown away by Manchester United, although I do not expect Spurs to be that poor, nor Team K-League to be that good. Instead, we should head into the match with the realistic expectation that this is the team’s first exhibition game of the season, and as such, if we are expecting perfection, we will be greatly disappointed.
Despite lots of rotation, Tottenham should likely win comfortably, but there will be opportunities for improvement heading into game two against Sevilla at the weekend.
Wednesday should provide some goals galore
If you watched any of the training sessions in South Korea, the crowd hung on the shot on target, sharing their disappointment and excitement was the shots either missed or went in. With an excited crowd, many different players playing in different positions, and a few mistakes, the ultimate result should be goals.
Son and Harry Kane want to put on a show with several players fighting for the minutes around and behind Spurs’ two superstars. With everyone wanting to make an impression, we should expect lots of opportunities and, ultimately, lots of goals.
How many of those goals go in against Tottenham will determine how happy Conte will be with his side after the match, but fans in the stadium should be given a tasty treat.
