1. Yet Another Motivator and Leader Behind the Scenes

Regardless of your opinion on bringing him back, Bale is a legend, unequivocally and inarguably. He has, other than at the international level, won everything there is to win, multiple times.

He knows what winning at the highest level takes and can impart that wisdom and experience on Spurs players yet to reach such eminent heights. The more Tottenham can bring in players like Bale the better off the club will be. Sure, he won’t play nearly as much but his behind-the-scenes influence could provide the club with a little extra when they need it the most.

Ivan Perisic, who just signed for Spurs, is another player whose boundless experience and winning pedigree will invariably help Tottenham’s younger crew ascend to a higher level.

Bale is adored and venerated in north London, not only by supporters but also by former teammates. The incalculable respect he’s earned at Hotspur Way would perfectly position him as a mentor, inspirer and role model, not only to the young players but to some of the veterans.

That type of leadership is worth its weight in gold.

Don’t get me wrong, there are a number of negatives to this prospective signing, which I’ll cover in a follow-up piece tomorrow.

But the pros are plentiful and pretty convincing, just ask about two-thirds of Spurs’ fanbase, who, like me, cannot drop the idea of bringing Bale back to Tottenham one more time.
