Tottenham Coach and Substitute Ratings

With illness and injury still impacting the club, Spurs only used two substitutes in a conservative approach to the game.

Substitute 1 – Dejan Kulusevski – 6

Coming on for Moura with just over 10 minutes to play, Dejan Kulusevski’s job was to help see out the clock. Kulusevski never got to make any of his trademark runs, but he did play enough defence to pick up a yellow card.

Substitute 2 – Joe Rodon – NA

Joe Rodon came on at 90 minutes for Royal, as Conte brought on more defence to see out the win.  His second appearance in as many games reminds fans that Rodon is part of this team.

Coach – Antonio Conte – 6.5

Tottenham was on the front foot from the off, dominating the possession. However, some of the movement and dangerous balls against Liverpool and Arsenal never came against Burnley. Rather than be expansive with the ball and attacking the corner flags, Spurs stuck with a conservative, possession-oriented approach. Some more aggression would be nice, but in the end, three points are all that matters as Spurs try to reach the Champions League.
