Midfield

Ryan Sessegnon and Oliver Skipp are still unavailable, and the likelihood of Skipp’s return before the end of the season decreases with each passing week. That leaves Conte’s preferred four to line up across the midfield.

Sergio Reguilon and Matt Doherty patrol the byline on either side of the pitch, while the Dane and the Uruguayan control the centre of the park.

Spurs’ success in this fixture largely depends on Pierre Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur’s respective performances. They’ll need to win the battle against Declan Rice and Thomas Soucek for Tottenham to leave the London Stadium with all three points. And we all know how important those are if Spurs want to challenge Arsenal and Manchester United.

Forwards and Formation

There is no doubt who is starting up front. Conte has well and truly decided on his favoured three. Harry Kane, who is looking to score in a fifth successive match, lines up beside Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski.

Kane has scored seven goals in his last five matches and is back to the rate of scoring most expected prior to the start of the season. He was rather unlucky in front of goal before finding the mark in recent weeks, so his recent goalscoring surge comes as no surprise.

The imperious Swede has cemented his starting role and is almost as much of a sure thing as teammates Son and Kane. Lucas Moura has once again faded into the periphery and will not start as long as Kulu is playing so well.

The trio will need to show their ruthless nature for Spurs to sink the Hammers. But there is no doubt who Conte will put his trust in. Hopefully they can return the favour in the monstrous forthcoming test.
