Tottenham Projected Forwards

After an intense day against a top team last weekend, the attacking verve was lacking against Burnley midweek. However, Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds United are not a team that will park the bus defensively, so Tottenham may have some real opportunities with space to exploit against the Peacocks.

Left forward – Heung-min Son

After a great effort against Manchester City, Heung-min Son was less effective against Burnley. The lack of space to make runs limited Son’s effectiveness. Then when opportunities arose, some poor decision-making with the ball diminished the results. Son is one of the most critical players, and Spurs need him to perform.

Centre-forward – Harry Kane

If you look at the statistics, Harry Kane had the same number of attempts against Burnley – three – as he did against Manchester City. However, the eye test tells us Kane had more chances against the defending champs. Denied his best opportunity by the woodwork, Kane needs more opportunities. Doing well feeding the ball wide to create space, just like under Pochettino, the returns from the wings have been minimal. It isn’t easy to score – even for Harry Kane – without some service.

Right-forward – Lucas Moura

Kulusevski has been solid; however, with the idea of mixing things up to try and get a result in mind, Lucas Moura goes back into the starting XI. Moura has had spells of effectiveness under Conte, and against a team that plays as open as Leeds, Moura should find ample opportunity to do what he does with the ball.
