Tottenham key three – Keep Lukaku limited

It is a bit harsh to say that Romelu Lukaku is having a poor season, the big Belgian striker has 7 goals in all competitions for Chelsea, including five in the Premier League. That said, 7 goals in 22 matches in all competitions are not the kind of return Chelsea was expecting when they dropped over £100 million on him this past summer.

If we add in that Chelsea was actually playing better football while Lukaku was out injured to the fact that Lukaku has publicly talked about how he missed Inter Milan, we may have a real crisis for Chelsea. However, the Blue’s depth really limits the overall impact of the controversy but Chelsea clearly needs their star may to play well, just as Spurs do with Kane.

Lukaku has been getting minutes just not the goals to match having not scored in 2022 despite playing more than 300 minutes. If Spurs are to win on Sunday, they need to keep Lukaku down and out of sync. Chelsea has enough other weapons that can beat you, Spurs cannot allow their most dangerous to get back on track if they are to win.
