Leicester City is a good team

Do not let their current midtable position fool you, Leicester City is a good team. Before they played Spurs their last match was against Liverpool and they won.  In fact, in some respects, Leicester is the team Tottenham has wanted to be.

It was Leicester who won the league in Spurs’ best ever season when the main contenders were all down. It was Leicester knocking off Chelsea at Wembley last season winning the FA Cup. It was Leicester beating Manchester City at the start of the season winning the Community Shield.

And now it is Leicester who will still be competing in the UEFA Europa Conference League where they are one of the top sides with a chance to win.

Those trophies, that place in Europe, are all things Tottenham wants and to get there they need to beat Leicester head-to-head. Sure they were missing a few players but they are still really good and well-coached, making it a big win on any occasion, let alone one with an ending like Wednesday had.

Tottenham did do something really rare and we should enjoy it

While any win against a team like Leicester, or Liverpool, or Chelsea is a big win; when you can do it and take a little piece of their heart it is even bigger.

Let’s face it, football can be a cruel, cruel sport. As Spurs fans, we have seen more than our fair share of tough breaks, questionable calls, and blow leads – just last season – to last a lifetime. Knowing how long ago that miraculous night in Amsterdam was and knowing the path that has occurred since then, Spurs fans, in particular, understand just how incredible a night like what we had was.

To seriously have the time left Spurs did and find a way to not only tie but win, in less than 97 minutes would be unbelievable if you did not see it. How rare is it? WellSpurs win is now the latest a team has come from behind and won in Premier League history, so pretty rare?

And in case you did not see it, here is Steven Bergwijn scoring the winner.

Enjoy the win fans because it was special, just how special we will see but for one night, Tottenham was magic again.
