3. Jack Clarke

Jack Clarke was purchased from Leeds in 2019 for £9.9 million. As a disclaimer, he is still only 21 years old and might, just might, still rise to superstardom at Tottenham. However, his influence on the senior side thus far is almost nil. Other than two Europa League, one FA Cup and one Europa Conference League qualifier appearances, Clarke hasn’t been able to make his mark on the first team.

Since Spurs bought him from the Yorkshire club less than three years ago, the youngster has been spewed out on loan three times.

Like a boomerang, Spurs sent him back to Leeds and then passed him on to Queens Park Rangers for a fleeting stint before sending him to Stoke. He’s back with Tottenham now, where he’s yet to make a Premier League appearance. While I hope Clarke ascends to glorious heights, it feels more likely he’ll end up as another of Tottenham’s could-have-beens.
