3. Ben Davies

Ben Davies has found his sweet spot in Tottenham’s rearguard. Establishing himself as one of Tottenham’s three centre backs, Davies has benefitted greatly from Conte’s decision to employ a formation that includes a back three. Davies has come into his own as Spurs’ left-sided centre back. What makes him so dynamic is his ability to join the attack late, usually via an overlapping run either inside or outside of Sergio Reguilon.

By adding an extra layer of attack, Davies’ offensive prowess is crucial against sides who park the bus. Like Sanchez and Eric Dier, he has found a way to limit his individual mistakes, an important part of his impressive progression under Conte.
