Tottenham need to add some players

Step one in a successful 2022 is ensuring the club’s current stars and leaders continue to play in London with the club, step two is bringing in some attacking creativity.

It has been said 1,000 times and can be said once more about the lack of success Spurs have had in replacing Christian Eriksen in the heart of the attacking midfield. Eriksen’s ability to find a pass all over the pitch has sorely been missed, particularly against a team parking the bus like Southampton did midweek.

Conte has made it clear that Harry Winks is staying, however, we should expect to see some level of turnover in the middle of the park, as at least one of Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, or Dele Alli will surely leave making space for a new player to bring some spark to Spurs offense.

There are really two positions – an attacking midfielder and a striker – which Spurs continue to need, filling one of the two in January and then the other in the summer would be good business, Assuming the striker is not a replacement but a compliment for Harry Kane.

Tottenham is building momentum but we have seen they need more firepower, depth, and creativity to maintain it, let’s hope that support comes in.
