4. Ryan Mason’s debut match as Tottenham gaffer

Ryan Mason became the first manager under 30 years old to take the helm of a Premier League team. He led Spurs to a 2-1 win over Southampton in his first match in charge, an outstanding accomplishment from Mason, who was 29 years old at the time. It was one of the feel-good stories of Tottenham’s calendar year. Mason, who joined the club as an impressionable eight-year-old, was cruelly forced to retire at 26 years old after fracturing his skull in a head collision with Chelsea’s Gary Cahill.

Mason wasn’t able to become the youngest manager to win silverware in the Premier League, but the now-30-year-old will forever be venerated for his loyalty and dedication to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. He’s one of our own and will forever have his name etched in Spurs history for last year’s lofty achievement.
