One of Antonio Conte’s main concerns at Tottenham Hotspur

Conte ready to take on next Tottenham challenge
Spurs have taken just eight points from seven away fixtures in the 2021-2022 campaign. It’s difficult, as Tottenham have played fewer away matches than any other side, to compare like-for-like, but the still numbers make for pretty ugly reading. Spurs, with between one and three matches in hand, currently own the eight worst away record in the division.
Spurs have scored just six goals on their travels, less than one per game. Tottenham last won away from home on Oct. 17, when Harry Kane scored his first goal of the season to help them get past Newcastle 3-2 on Tyneside. Their only other away win came in the second match of the season, an unconvincing, even lucky, 1-0 result over Wolves on Aug. 22.
There is, however, a promising, all-important affirmation for Spurs supporters. Five of seven of Tottenham’s away matches thus far were played under the stewardship of Nuno Espirito Santo. So Conte has yet to make his mark on the way Spurs conduct themselves in hostile environments.
And he will make Tottenham’s away deficiencies one of his most pressing priorities. Of their remaining 21 matches, 12 are away from the friendly confines of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. While Spurs still have two matches in hand on both West Ham and Arsenal, both are on the road.
Spurs are already, after only two matches, substantially more difficult to beat on enemy terrain under Conte’s tutelage. Now the Italian gaffer needs to find a way to get the same offensive output from his top guns as he does at home.
Their spot in next season’s Champions League depends on it.
