Defence

Hugo Lloris 7/10

Palace didn’t muster a shot on target all match, making it rather difficult to rate Spurs’ keeper. He secured the clean sheet but wasn’t tested.

Japhet Tanganga 8/10

Japhet Tanganga took Ben Davies‘ place in the starting lineup and didn’t miss a beat. He looked more accomplished in possession and never looked uncomfortable on the defensive side. The young Englishman made two tackles, intercepted twice, had three clearances and a blocked shot. He also had an attempted shot, something we rarely see from him.

Eric Dier 7.5/10

Like his defensive colleagues, Eric Dier enjoyed a Sunday stroll in the park. He marshalled the backline expertly, with poise and calmness. In terms of his defensive contribution, he had just the one interception. While his defensive numbers weren’t, due to the lack of pressure, too impressive, his on-field presence was.

Davinson Sanchez 8/10

The Colombian dominated Zaha, even goading Palace’s temperamental striker into a second yellow card. Sanchez was more involved in play than Dier, mostly due to his left sided, slightly more advanced, position on the pitch. Sanchez had three tackles, two interceptions, one clearance and one blocked shot.
