2. Turning weakness into strength

Harry Winks, Dele Alli, Tanguy Ndombele and Ryan Sessengon showed they can still be integral members of Tottenham’s squad. A palpable lack of depth has plagued Tottenham’s ability to freely change personnel, especially in the top flight. All of the aforementioned players have endured inconsistent, mediocre, even listless extended spells.

While each player’s future at the club remains uncertain, all four individuals should be incredibly proud of how they performed against Liverpool, especially Winks and Dele, who enjoyed outings reminiscent of their golden days under Mauricio Pochettino. Dele’s relentless effort, on both sides of the ball, was well received by supporters. If nothing else, Tottenham supporters demand you bleed for the badge. It was the first time in recent memory Dele did exactly that.

Their collective confidence and assuredness is a strong indicator of just how adept Conte is at eliciting the best from every player on the squad. He’ll need continued impressive performances from his entire squad if Spurs are to qualify for next season’s Champions League. But today offered a promising platform from which to ascend.
